The top 10 most common dog breeds I see in my grooming salon

As with every established grooming salon, I see many, many different dog breeds throughout the week. Everything from Affenpinschers to Xoloitzcuintlis (actually I haven’t had a Xoloitzcuintli in my salon in a long time, but you never know!).
It truly is amazing how many different dog breeds there are, and when you first start working as a dog groomer it can even be overwhelming!
But as you continue in the career, you’ll begin to see some dog breeds much more than others. I’m sure every groomer’s top 10 list would be different, but in this post I wanted to share the top 10 most common dog breeds I see in my salon.
My top 10 in alphabetical order:
Bichon Frise

Cavalier King Charles Spaniel

German Shepherd

Golden Retriever

Maltese

Miniature Poodle

Miniature Schnauzer

Pomeranian

Shih Tzu

Yorkshire Terrier

Hundreds of dog breeds
If you become a groomer, your top ten will probably be different than mine.
There are hundreds of dog breeds throughout the world, and some breeds are very abundant while others make up a much smaller group.
Some breeds are pretty rare, and you might go through your whole grooming career without bathing or grooming these breeds.
